about

amanda cronin is a ceramic artist based in new york. with a focus on wheel-thrown stoneware, her work brings a touch of artistry to everyday objects. while much of her practice is centered around electric firing, she is captivated by the elemental nature of atmospheric woodfiring, where flame and ash do what they will to her work.

amanda views the tactile nature of clay as a medium for memory, where every gesture (intentional or unexpected) is memorialized in the kiln. by balancing the technical discipline of the wheel with experiments in glaze and surface decoration, she creates functional vessels that offer a connection to the person behind the process.
